Stitch in time

This is a new regular mending session which we’re offering as a free drop-in, with grateful support from the Devon County Council covid recovery fund. Saturday 8th October was the first session and Helen Mepham who is leading these sessions focussed on darning and mending woollen clothes. People brought in their beautiful and favourite jumpers and some lovely mending was done, items left with a whole new lease of life and more character than before!

Next session is Saturday October 22nd, 10-12am at Art House, focussing on mending clothes:

Rips, tears (not the sad variety), pockets falling off , stains on favourite pieces of clothing-there's usually a solution. Bring your loved but distressed garments and we'll see what we can do together to make life a bit better. There will be a sewing machine available but most repairs will be hand sewn. Materials provided.

The next mending session is at the Art House ( not the old school centre this time) on Oct 22nd from 10-12. Sessions are FREE, there's no need to book and a cuppa is on offer too. What's not to like?
