Fused glass - Annette Daly Glass

Annette Daly, a fused glass and lampwork (flamework) glass artist first started working with glass 20 years ago.  She has had a studio at Ocean Studios, Plymouth since it opened in 2015.  As well as making and selling her own work, Annette has been teaching fused glass courses there since 2017 and has recently started teaching fused glass courses at Arthouse.  The courses Annette offers are varied and designed to appeal to a wide range of ages, interests and abilities.  Her shortest courses are taster courses which run for 1 ½ hours and prices for these start from £25pp.  Accompanied children as young as 5 can attend the taster courses, although they are popular with all ages including adults.  Annette also offers longer half and full day courses where you can make larger and more complex pieces as well as multi-part courses run over several weeks which enable participants to learn a wider range of skills and to make even more complex pieces that require several firings.  Annette also offers a wide range of fused glass jewellery making courses for all ages and abilities.

Annette loves helping everyone to discover the joy of fused glass which is a beautiful and forgiving medium so even those who don’t consider themselves ‘artistic’ can get fantastic results on their first attempts.

Annette offers regular classes throughout the year at Arthouse including weekday, evening and weekend classes.  Some of these have specific themes like Spring, Summer or Christmas but you are always welcome to bring along your own ideas and don’t need to follow the theme if you want to make something personal.  There are also lots of examples available should you lack inspiration!  No experience is necessary for most of the classes but those with glass fusing experience are also very welcome.  All tools are provided and all the glass is included in the course price.  The pieces that you make will be fired by Annette in a specialist kiln after the course and returned to you a week or two later.
